“I have been working with Stephany at iCoach Nutrition for nearly 4 months now and the results have been truly amazing. I had been into CrossFit off and on for 2 years, and I had plateaued in my performance and physique. I was eating 1500-1700 calories a day in hopes of losing fat and building more muscle. From reading many different articles and blogs on the internet, I tried to focus on a diet high in protein and low in carbs and fat. Before I started nutrition coaching with Stephany, I weighed 188 lbs and had always remained between 188 and 195 lbs for the last 2 years. I was not able to move up any more weights in lifting or improve my time and performance in WODs.
Stephany evaluated my day-to-day regimen and took the time to understand my fitness and diet history, as well as my goals. In my coaching with her, I realized that such a low-calorie diet is not sufficient or sustainable to become a good CrossFit athlete. She helped me understand the importance of fueling properly at the right time and following a diet with a balanced macro. She helped me gradually start increasing my calorie intake from 1500 to 2700 calories. Despite increasing calories, I started to lose fat and gain muscle. Every 2 weeks during our check-ins she encouraged me to add new and realistic goals to my routine, such as getting in the habit of making and eating a well-balanced breakfast daily. The coaching process and improvement did not stop with diet alone.
Before I started working with Stephany, I was only getting 3 to 5 hours of sleep. On weekends I loved to go out and have many beers with friends. Stephany took the time to understand my nightly routines and weekend habits and helped me change my lifestyle. Now I get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night and able to enjoy weekends without having as many beers as I used to. With all the changes in my nutrition and lifestyle, I started losing 0.5 – 1 pound a week and lost 10 pounds in less than 4 months. I am leaner and in better shape now than I ever was and I saw major improvements in my workouts. I reached new PR’s in lifting, I am faster, and always feel more energetic.
If less than 4 months could show these results, I am excited and look forward to using the knowledge and skills I learned to see the results 1 year from now. The best part about working with Stephany has been that at no point in my journey I felt like it was tough to continue or follow through. She is a great supporter and a motivator and always helped me stay accountable for my goals and making the right choices. Whether it is shopping for groceries or deciding what entrée to order at a restaurant, she is always a text away and responds promptly with her suggestions.
I can definitely say that Stephany helped me permanently change my lifestyle to stay fit and healthy, something I could not have never achieved with workouts alone. I could not be more thankful and appreciative for all her dedication and support in helping me achieve my goals.”
