1 package of basil, stemmed
1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan Reggiano
1/2 cup of walnuts
1/2 cup of a good quality olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
juice of one lemon
1/4 cup of  Water


  1. Put the walnuts in a food processor. Make sure they are finely chopped. Add all the ingredients but the oil and water.
  2. Pulse till combined. Then as the food processor is running, slowly add the oil.
  3. Then add the water. I like the water because it isn’t so oil heavy and keeps it a good consistency. You don’t need so much oil but the water is a great addition!
