“Good” vs “Bad” Food

Is there such a thing?

Is there really such a thing as healthy vs unhealthy food?

Sometime people fall into the trap of categorizing food as good or bad. The reality of it is that there is no way that we can make general assumptions and recommendations for every last person in this world. We have to be careful when making general statements, every person in this world has different needs and we must focus on a more individualized approach when it comes to nutrition.

For some people, dairy is bad.

For some people, eggs are bad.

For some people, gluten is bad.

For some people, alcohol is bad.

For some people, soy is bad.

For some people, corn is bad.

Etc…

At the end of the day, individualization is key!

Obviously there are some foods that offer very little value, such as artificial foods, trans fats, artificial ingredients, artificial additives, etc. The name of the game is eating good quality whole foods, that you’re not allergic too, in quantities that support your lifestyle the majority of the time.

At the end of the day, too many people are getting caught up in the fancy stuff without establishing the basics. Hormones, supplements, IF, keto, etc. are all very popular subject matters right now. Getting an adequate amount of sleep, eating high quality foods in quantities that support your lifestyle the majority of the time, staying hydrated, etc. are some of the most important components of a healthy individual that are overlooked more times than not.

We must establish a healthy relationship with food, our body, and the lifelong journey of living your best life. After all, we only get one shot…one opportunity to make the most out of our lives. So live your life, enjoy spending time with friends and family, and don’t feel guilty about indulging in “bad” foods / drinks every once in a while.

Food is rarely good or bad, focus on the big picture.

Enjoy “good” foods the majority of the time, indulge in the “bad” foods every once in a while.

Above all, LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!
